- Step 5: Tweak your ECU for maximum torque and horsepower. Repeat step 4 slowly several times to obtain maximum horsepower. Also, double-check captures for indications of a lean mixture, retarded timing, detonations, etc.
How Often Do You Need To Tune Up Your Car?
The question of how frequently you should tune up your car depends on the type of car you have. Older cars with non-electronic ignitions may require tuning every 16,000 to 19,000 kilometers (10,000 to 12,000 miles).
